Pembinaan Karakter Religius Siswa Melalui Program Tahfidz Dan Tadabbur Al-Qur’an Di Sma Islam Al Azhar NW Kayangan Lombok Barat

In the midst of globalization and modernization, the moral character of the younger generation has shown a concerning decline. This situation highlights the urgent need to strengthen religious character education through approaches rooted in Islamic spiritual values. This community service program was conducted at SMA Islam Al Azhar NW Kayangan, West Lombok, on October 28–29, 2024, focusing on fostering students' religious character through tahfidz (Qur’anic memorization) and tadabbur (reflection on the meaning of the Qur’an) programs. The program involved 40 first-grade students and adopted a participatory-collaborative approach involving teachers and students. The tahfidz program aimed to improve students' ability to read and memorize the Qur’an accurately according to tajwid and makhraj rules, while the tadabbur program encouraged students to understand, reflect upon, and apply Qur’anic values in daily life. The results showed that students still face significant challenges both technically and spiritually, including weak reading ability, low motivation, and a lack of reflective habits. However, the program contributed positively to increasing students’ emotional and spiritual connection with the Qur’an, as well as reinforcing values such as honesty, discipline, and social awareness. An integrated implementation of tahfidz and tadabbur programs is expected to be an effective strategy in shaping a well-rounded and sustainable religious character within Islamic educational settings.
